PRESS RELEASE: FROM SEATTLE TO SPEYSIDE

Art from Leap Gallery in Craigellachie is enjoying a worldwide reputation with customers from Sweden, Canada, USA, Netherlands, Iceland, Germany, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, Falkland Islands, China, Belgium, Australia, Brazil and Denmark. A passing remark from an American visitor to gallery owner Lesley Ann Parker that the First Thursday Gallery Crawl proves popular in Seattle lead her to take the initiative, and for the past year Leap Gallery has been open every First Thursday, except January, until 9pm. On Thursday 6th December the theme will be Christmas Shopping and Ms Parker has persuaded other nearby galleries in Speyside to take part. The Green Hall Gallery in Craigellachie, Still Life Picture Framer & Gallery and Just Art in Fochabers will all be open for the Gallery Crawl. "The idea behind this initiative," says Ms Parker "is that art lovers will get used to the idea that on the First Thursday of every month we will remain open for business much later, and make it easier for customers to "crawl"from one venue to another." As a marketing initiative to create gallery awareness to a wider audience John Lowrie Morrison - Jolomo has commented, "I think the Gallery Crawl is a great and unique idea".

Any other galleries throughout Grampian and Highland who want to participate and promote awareness of the First Thursday Gallery Crawl can contact Leap Gallery on 01340 881226 or lesley@leap-scotland.com
