The Milton Gallery enjoys a wonderful setting within a courtyard of renovated farm steadings known as "The Milton of Crathes". On site there is a locally acclaimed restaurant, gift shop, applied arts studio, textile and craft workshop and the Royal Deeside Railway Preservation Society.
Situated on the River Dee, it is within walking distance of Crathes Castle and Banchory (via the old railway line).
The Milton Gallery was established in 1997 to promote and support local artists and since, has developed into a creditable showcase for aspiring and established artists living and working in Scotland. The location of the gallery, in the heart of Royal Deeside, provides a regular stream of visitors from the UK and overseas.
A large extension was opened in 2004, which more than doubles the display space. There is a regular programme of exhibitions throughout the year. The gallery manager is Sue Thornton.
