Bill and Jane Lannagan opened their Gallery by the Square in Tomintoul in December 2003. The quaint little building was built in the 19th century and has been a cobblers shop, restaurant and a woodcarvers shop. Renovated by Bill, it has a delightful airy Gallery area showing Jane's work, both contemporary fine art and batik paintings, glazed tiles, and art and crafts of other local artists. There is also a workshop where most days Jane can be seen working and where Bill offers a picture framing service.
Influenced by her father, a prolific painter, Jane started developing her own technique over the last thirty years when she moved to this area and was inspired by the hues and textures of the Scottish Highlands.
